DSL worked just fine, but when I tried to look for my files in the main drive (uses XP) I can't seem to find it. I kept looking for it but I only see directories for the CD Drive where DSL runs-off from. Did I miss something? I'm sorry, but I've never used Linux, before, and it's my first time to use a different OS than Windows.  :(  I'm sorry if I bothered anyone.

Your hard disks are available in the /mnt (it means "mount") directory.

Windows will almost always be on hda1. To mount the hard disk to where you can see the files, right-click on hda1 and choose mount.

Be aware that DSL does not support writing to ntfs partitions, so the windows partition will be mounted read-only.

Oh, no wonder~! I wondered why nothing happens when I mount it! I didn't know that you had to /mnt it! Thank you so much!

^_^

I'm not sure what you mean by /mnt it, but I'm glad you got it working.

/mnt is just a directory that holds the mount points for your disks and such.

No confusing, meaningless drive letters like with WinDOS.

Got a problem working on some Dell machines at TAFE (ie. college), DSL doesn't seem to be able to access the HD at all, or even see it, which I've never come across before.  There's simply no partitions listed under /mnt, just a generic "HD", which doesn't mount at all.

Any thoughts?  They have 150GB NTFS drives.  So I guess I can't write to them anyway, but I'm stumped as to why I can't even see the drive...
