I'd been mucking around with DSL 1.4 for a while (frugal type install), and backup/restore was working perfectly. I changed to DSL 1.5 this morning (just swapped the files over), and suddenly X wouldn't load (I'm using XFree86). Turns out that the XFConfig-4 file in /etc/X11 wasn't getting backed up anymore?
I stuffed around for a while trying to work out what was going on, as other stuff was backing up. Finally I realised that there were now two filetool.lst files - filetool.lst and .filetool.lst
Without going back to 1.4 I can't confirm for sure, but I think it uses filetool.lst (cause that's were my reference to XFConfig-4 was and it used to work) and it was still around. However, 1.5 is now using .filetool.lst, so XFree86 couldn't find it.
Hope that helps some confused person
