alright, the first thing you're probably wondering is what is sysfs and why do i need it. TBH i have almost no clue what it is, but it appears i need it to use the initNG script on bootup. admittedly getting it to work relatively well on DSL is most probably out of my league, but i wanna see how far i can take it.
i won't bore you with the specifics of what i'm trying to do, but what i do need help with is figuring out how to compile a DSL kernel with sysfs support
from my limited understanding, the 2.4 kernel doesn't support sysfs, so i'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to compile a 2.6 based kernel for DSL.
basically searching the forums has told me compiling a kernel in DSL isn't exactly easy (have to do it the pre-make menuconfig way), and compiling a 2.6 based one is generally not worth the trouble for most people that think of trying
can anyone point me in the right direction for compiling a new kernel?
