I have DSL linux installed on my USB drive, and i was playing around with it on my fathers laptop when i first installed it. He has a usb mouse, and there was no problem. the mouse worked perfectly.

But when i brought it home, It didn't work with my mouse, and this may have something to do with the fact that it is ps/2.

Any ideas?

The mouse is specified in the file /home/dsl/.xserverrc
As this file is part of the default backup, then when you later booted the usb mouse was restored. Fix, at boot prompt type
dsl xsetup
This will allow you to choose setting again for your current machine.
