MDG, Is this the CoolEdit you are referring to ? If it is, it is for Windows. DSL is Linux.
Did you check out the DSL Repository? There are some multimedia tools there. DSL Repository - Multimedia
I do not play with multimedia stuff like this, but maybe something in the repository can help you.
