Does Beaver have a buffer that holds data until it's written to disk?

I was editing a file when X crashed - ( The culprit was dillo - I was viewing a page at freshmeat.com - fluxbox themes I belive - a large image was downloading - when - POOF went dillo... POOF went X... and my work..... POOF

(I now have beaver set to auto save, and I also backup every few minutes (DSL 3.0))
