so I download kernel 2.6.1 full source and try to upgrade it
but it get the following errors
make menuconfig

lxdialog/checklist.c1xx: error: xxxx ===> more than 10 lines that complain similar error about lxdialog
make[2]: *** [scripts/lxdialog/checklist.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [menuconfig] Errror22
make *** [menuconfig] Error 2

Anyone know how to upgrade new kernel on Damnsmall
are there any specific thing to do before install new kernel?

At least upgrade to kernel 2.4.22 or higher which has less issue with usb bug.
Please upgrade wlan-ng package to lastest one.
I can not figure out how to do it
