It formats it, and then says:
Applying syslinux to pendrive partition.
syslinux: Input/output error
Setting up system image on /mnt/sda1...mkfir: Cannot create directory '/mnt/pendrive': File exists
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on .dev/sda1, or too many mounted file systems
Error mounting usb device

So what do i do, all i did was boot up and run the program to go to pendrive, which didnt work. :(

Is there no solution, is this flash drive incompatible?

Did you try it this way:

1) Boot from livecd with USB drive NOT plugged in.
2) Plug in USB drive and wait 10-20 seconds.
3) Choose pendrive install from the menu.

This assures that you are installing from a clean system and also it makes sure that you are really booting from the livecd and not from the USB drive (especially if it contains a bootable OS).

Hi stephen_wq,

Please try installing the pendrive as "USB-ZIP" then you'll get.

I rendered into this problem before.  It is because you need to format the pendrive as FAT16 in zip geometry.  Otherwise syslinux won't work.  If you need the pendrive to work as USB-HDD then you need grub to boot.

Have fun
