Hi, I get confused by your explanation, but I shall try to give you some insight with hope that it could help you:
1. If you run 2 DSL USB booted off of a USB-pendrive and running: then, betaftpd is your friend in order to exchange data and vnc viewer/server in order to manipulate apps; 2. If one machine has a DSL booted off of a USB-pendrive and the other a winxp with DSL USB-embedded running on it: then, you don't need to let DSL USB run embedded on your second machine; you have to share your USB-stick on your xp machine with a xp utility (filezilla is a good one) and you can activate the xp-remote-desktop app in xp in order to get a GUI connection with your xp machine and (if you need to) to run DSL embedded remote from within xp.
good luck! yours z
