So don't do a regular hard drive install.
Instead do a frugal install which mimics the cdrom.
I run several machines this way and have for over a year.

i have USB to CF card reader ... if i isntall it by tool menu it dont work in compaq ... i think that he have wrong writings ;/ it isnt sda1 it has to be at hdc ..but i dont know how to do it
