The download starts off fine. Once it's halfway downloaded the word 'stalled' appears where the estimated time remaining used to be. Here's a screenshot:

I figured out why this isn't working. There is nowhere to save the *.dsl file. I'm running it in Windows XP professional under C:\documents and settings\Jeff\My Documents\Linux\DSL-Windows\
I have read this: http://www.h7.dion.ne.jp/~qemu-win/HowToFloppyCdrom-en.html

I have decided to use the harddrive.img method. I have created a 100Mb harddrive.img file, but I don't know how to use it.

Actually it uses a virtual ramdisk.
Stalled under wget just usually means your network connection wasn't stable.  You could resume with wget -c , but it looks like you just found a workaround .. that works :)

Actually, the Internet is very slow in Qemu. I'm trying to install xfce4 in Debian Sarge, but I can't really get anything done, because Internet connection is on and off. Is there anyway to fix this? maybe a Qemu setting that I'm missing. I'm starting to think that this has something to do with my dorm connection, but it's fast and always on in Windows, or pure Linux for that matter.
