I would like to use DSL to be able to vpn to my workplace from any PC with a LIVE-CD or USB-key. DSL seems like an ideal distiution for this. I have successfully booted from a USB key, installed gcc on DSL using MyDSL, and download the DSL kernel source. Does anyone have a pointer or a link on how to add gcc, the kernel source, and other apps source to the DSL ISO?
I have tried the following: I have mounted the standard DSL iso and copied DSL to another work directory. I then added the kernel source and the vpn client source to /KNOPPIX in the work directory. I then remastered the ISO from the work directory. I burned the new ISO and boot it from CD-ROM, but I can't find the kernel source or vpn client source anywhere on the CD.
Ideally, I would like to only have to boot the LIVE-CD and build the vpn client from source --- so gcc, untarred kernel source, and untarred vpn client source would already be present on the CD. The vpn client has a script that builds the vpn client as a module and does the necessary steps to load the module into the kernel.
thanks for your time, Nate
