hi, ive just seen that in recent versions of dsl firefox has been included, to the loss of other great apps.
how in the world is this? isnt this supposed to be a small distro?
i mean, we already have dillo, wich is GREAT, and firefox takes too much space off the distro wich we can use for games, apps, etc. or bring back a good media player instead of the "dsl media player"...
and also firefox takes too much CPU off old pcs...
please consider removing it and replacing it with something more worthwile and fitting!

It sounds like you are a version or two behind us..
Perhaps 0.9.0..

Since 0.9.1 , xmms was added back in, as well as the beaver editor.
The firefox is a special build, viciously reworked by John, Robert, and myself.
It's only about 4 megs, not the 10MB's or more your used to seeing.
A few small apps were lost, but they are a LOT easier to download
than the fat firefox was..  zile, some games, sndconfig, etc..

So, grab the latest, (0.9.2) and enjoy having a truly supported ,
top-of-the line browser in your 50MB distro,
that handles flash, java, and many other filetypes ( with available plugins )..

Most everything you were missing is amazingly back in the distro.

And dillo and links are still there for your low-ram and cpu challenged boxes.

Firefox cut down to 4 megs is impressive Ke4nt.  From the point view of an old laptop user, a cut-down Opera 7.53 which starts off life at around 4 megs (without the java component)must surely be even smaller and much faster but with comparable features (- keep the e-mail!).  I have used Opera on my Win 98 box for years now and I still prefer it over Firefox.  For 4 megs the cut down Firefox in DSL v0.9-- is still quite slow.  I can see why the Puppy Linux people have both Firefox .iso and Opera .iso options.
