Have tried DSL 0.6 -- WOW!!  This thing is really much improved!  Especially the complete, well-arranged pop-up menu of choices, the desktop themes, and the option to turn on all the desktop bells and whistles.  Very intuitive, especially the control panel in the lower right allowing disk mounts/unmounts.

Suggestions:  Still the refresh rate problem--seems limited to 60 Hz.  Seems someone who knows how to fix Xvesa to operate as it should is needed on this one.  Also, I had troubles with Dillo accepting cookies at common websites.  Any better browsers that are still small in size?

Left-handed mouse, and mouse acceleration settings:  THANK YOU for putting xmodmap and xset on the CD, although it's a bit of a techie thing to have to manually set these two items from an xterm.

Never mind on the Dillo cookies problem; I found out it's all about the dillorc and cookiesrc files, in order to customize Dillo.  Looks like Dillo is actually pretty nice, and so quick to render pages.

Put "knoppix cheat codes" in google.
I think the one you want is:
knoppix xvrefresh=60
or in your case, something higher. Worth a try, anyway.
