I couldn't load any of the Tk extensions in the system section of MyDSL. Other things downloaded fine, these didn't. They got checksum errors every time.

When I tried to download them from Ibiblio using Firefox instead of the MyDSL downloader, they downloaded fine but when I clicked on the checksum files, those weren't there. The checksums for some other files in the system section worked just fine.

But when I tried ibiblio ftp then the checksum files were there, and the checksums of the downloaded files were correct, and there was no obvious difference between the checksum files for Tk extensions and the other checksum files.

When I started this post I thought I knew why it didn't work. Surely these particular MD5 files were missing. But they aren't. Still, the temporary solution is to download and check them using ftp and not MyDSL or http.

Could the problem possibly be that the first 8 characters of all the names is the same? And the 9th character is either t or b. Maybe somehow the server doesn't notice that these are all unique? If it was an old Windows it might be seeing them as tcl_tk&1 etc. I dunno.

There is a known problem with firefox and checksums that include "tar.gz" in the file name, but checking them now in firefox I'm getting a "not found" error rather than the expected blank page.

Here are the md5 sums i have locally for the tcl extensions
86dcaccd3f5d3b3af18112a88a61dd74  tcl_lib-blt.tar.gz
20419755da469f5366187bb0a4f2aa78  tcl_lib-bwidget.tar.gz
3a0effd81ca6f1a04a8c898b036766a6  tcl_lib-tablelist.tar.gz
0df026438f1858ec91c8ae04f81f00e9  tcl_lib-tix.tar.gz
f78fa5eb93057b941f12dca90437fa67  tcl_lib-tkpng.tar.gz
e7959b68a31b1a086b778b94cc018fdf  tcl_lib-tktable.tar.gz

The checksum files were there. Just in the wrong format.
Files were named tcl_lib-xxxxx.md5.txt when tcl_lib-xxxxx.tar.gz.md5.txt is required for tar.gz type extensions.
I have corrected this and they should download correctly from the MyDSL download tool.
