I have a Sony Vaio PCG 505 Intel Pentium MMX 233 Mhz, 32 MB RAM, 12 GB hard disk. I boot through 3.5 inch floppy and then use USB to complete the boot. After installing DSL on hard disk and installing grub or lilo, the computer gets stuck on reboot.
If I dont boot and directly install with going to X, booting succeeds till identifying the processor, then it freezes.
Both in booting up and booting down I get multiple lines modprobe:modprobe: Cant open dependencies file /lib/modules/2.4.26/modules.dep (no such file or directory).
I used the same floppy and USB to install DSL on other computers successfully.
Any idea what might be going on and what needs to be done... thanks...
Addition: Problem solved by following instructions given here http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....ny+vaio
Next challenge: configuring wireless and saving files etc with frugal install
