My configuration :
2.ghz laptop running DSL in a virtual machine.
P90 laptop running OpenBSD (as Xvesa is incompatible with my display)

I find my P90 machine too slow to run any real applications on.  So, I've scripted it to start X, and do an SSH login into the DSL on my stronger laptop to run the windowmanager and applications.  Works quite well really, this is the fastest P90 I've ver worked on.

Anyways, it seems that every time I boot up the DSL VM (with HD install) I still need to configure the Network Adapter (as it always defaults to DHCP) and initialize the sshd manually.  While this is not difficult, it could still be easier.

So my question is this...
How do I get DSL to boot up with my own Static IP settings and initialize the SSHD automatically?  That way all I have to do is press 'play' on the DSL VM and run the script on my P90, and voila it's done... heck, even my wife or daughter could do it. :)

You will need to edit the kernel append line in your virtual machine and make some changes to the files that are backed up by DSL.

See this link for static IP:

You can start up the sshd server by adding the word "ssh" to the append line.
