bootfloppy-grub.img
bootfloppy-usb.img
bootfloppy-utils.img
bootfloppy.img
pcmciafloppy.img

I have seen bootfloppy and bootfloppy discussed at:

http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php/Boot_Floppies

I think the bootfloppy-grub is what is covered over at:

http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/wiki/index.php/Installing_Grub

What about the other two floppy images?

I am booting from a pcmcia floppy that the bios just treats as a regular floppy.  And installing from a pcmcia cdrom onto a hard drive.

I want to use disk druid (or similiar tool) to lay out my HD partitions for the install.  And I want to end up with Grub in the master boot sector and a /boot partition at the front of the boot HD.

The only one that is not really needed is the bootfloppy-usb.img

Booting from usb has been incorpated into the standard bootfloppy.img via the boot option fromusb

The pcmciafloppy.img contains only additional PCMCIA specific modules to load when prompted whilst using the standard bootfloppy.img together with the frompcmcia boot option

The bootfloppy-grub.img obviously has the grub boot loaded for you to use and edit per your requirements, it is a sample.

The bootfloppy-utils.img is a collection of other DOS boot loaders and tools to aid in the installing of DSL onto difficult systems. I wrote about this in the DSL book as well as in these forums. For example you can dump DSL onto many floppy disks with the tools included..
