Here is a list of problems, and how I attempted to fix them on my D620&630
1: DSL would black screen upon boot. 1A: Used the DSL ACPI=off to get beyond that. DSL-N doesn't have that issue, but the latest beta of DSL does.
2: DSL/DSL-N can't seem to see the SATA drives in these laptops. I have tried the DSL SATA command to no avail. 2A: If anyone has any idea how to get these to recognize SATA please let me know.
3: Tried the lates beta of DSL and used the DSL SATA switch. 3A: It sits on the loading SATA driver screen forever. I actually let it sit there all night just to see if it would eventually time out, it didn't.
I would really like to get a hard drive install of this onto a D620/630. My ultimate goal is to get VMWare Server installed into it, to minimize the OS use of hardware resources.
Thanks for any and all assistance.
By the way, did I mention that I'd be willing to pay for a version of DSL/DSL-N that supported a D620/630, and could accept a VMWare Server install?
