Everytime DSL boots up its start knoppix-autoconfig for detecting my devices. What if I want to preset them so that DSL is loaded a bit quicker?

And since I did a harddisk install how can I make sure all settings I change (like background etc) are saved by default?

Thanks in advance for any reply's

Depends on the install. If you did a debian-type one, everything is permanent automatically..

For presetting devices, knoppix-autoconfig has a cheatcode to look for a file which lists modules to load. Don't remember it's name, but dive in and you'll find it. To find which modules are loaded after a device-detecting boot, type lsmod.
