Hi,

Here´s my HW setup:
CPU: National Geode 266 GMx
Graphics: C&T69000
256MB Ram
5GB HD (DSL only = hda1)
CD-Rom on ide0
mouse on com1
no floppy, no usb, no sound

I can boot the system from CD in failsafe mode.
When I do a HD-install the kernel loads and at a certain point (I guess during sys detection) throw up following error in an endless loop:

ACPI-0411:
Error: acpi_ev_gpe_dispatch: No handler or method for GPE [x]

where x seems to be different numbers (hard to tell which, because the line are just flying by on the screen).

So ´booted from CD again and tried to modify lilo.conf on hda1 but was unable to run lilo with parameter "configfile on HD". It tells me it cannot write map file. Adding parameter for map file resulted in other errors.

So I modified the hd-install script and also mkliloboot (set all lines "append = ..." to "append = failsafe"), re-partitioned the HD, did a brand new hd-install, restarted --> same ACPI error.
Checked lilo.conf on hda1 --> correctly shows "append = failsafe".

I guess I´m doing something wrong with configuring lilo (lilo.conf on hda1)?

Just for the heck of it, try adding

noapic apci=off

after your failsave and rerun lilo
