First let me say that I am pretty new to the world of Linux. I played around with the Live CD for while until I had the right hardware to try and do a HD install.
Mobo: Intel D845GBV P4 2.53ghz w/ 512mb RAM GForce2-MX400 64mb AGP video 3Com 3c905b ethernet card Cmedia CM8738 audio card HD 60gb Seagate ATA100
I had used the partition utility in the Win2k setup when reformating my drive. After creating the windows partitions I created a 512mb partition to be used as swap (i think i read that 128mb was all that was necessary but I had the extra space to spare). I created another partition 2 gb in size for the install.
I also have a compaq nc3121 network card that works. The only issue I had was my original sound card. ALS4000 chipset, did no twork.
If there is any information which I didnt provide, please ask.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped with DSL Linux. This is really slick!
[edit] oops, forgot to mention I am using DSL 0.9.1 [/edit]
