I have set up two different backup.tar.gz files for my DSL 0.6.1 installation. In two partitions, I have the filetool.lst for each tarball. At boot, I use the knoppix cheatcode: knoppix restore=/dev/hdb1 (for one version) or knoppix restore=/dev/hdb2 (for the other version) --- The main difference between the two is one has MozillaFirebird (686), and the other has the Foxfire (586). There is not much difference between the two, but I just wanted to see if I could do this. --- I have different menus, and both of these boot off the hard drive, using this setup: http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/general_howto (this was written with 0.5.3.1 in mind, but generally applies to 6.) I have added wvdial back in from 0.5.3.1, so my modem will work. So, when these boot, the partition with /knoppix in it becomes /cdrom. --- When a backup is made, for instance when bookmarks are changed, or a new web page html file is written in the Scite editor, the menu for that version will write to the correct tarball. I use custom-made filetool.sh files, and here is the one made for one of these versions: http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/61_filetool_sh of course the real script is 61_filetool.sh, but one cannot name a html page that or it won't display as text. Here is the menu: http://www.angelfire.com/ms/telegram/fluxbox_menu_9 ---
