Hi there. For some reason I am not able to get downloaded extensions to save/restore. Maybe it is not possible, or it requires some manual adjustment. I am running DSL 1.5 (frugal) with home and opt on a seperate partition. Downloading extensions doesn't seem to be a problem, they get installed, I get my desktop icon and they run. My problem is to save them permanent. Is there a way to install extensions including all required files to my home partition, or do I have to manually search for all installed files - which seem to go all over the place  (different folders) - and add them to my filetool.lst? I'm thankful for any hint to solve my problem.

On a frugal install, I just open a root shell and copy the ones that I want to keep from the default /tmp to /cdrom
YMMV

BTW, you can change the path from "/tmp" to "/cdrom" by editing "/opt/.mydsl_dir".

Hello, I am new to DSL - this being my first post - and find that it is fantastic (frugal install, toram; home=hda1 opt=hda1).
My problem is very similar to this, I am able to download the myDSL files, and install them fine, they work, no problems, but as soon as I restart the computer the files are not installed anymore.
I have tried to copy the files from the /tmp directory, to the /cdrom directory as mentioned above but this too does not work. Am I doing something wrong - or am i missing a vital step (as far as i can see, /cdrom gets written over on startup)

I am trying to setup a simple Azureus server, which I can VNC into from on the network.
This brings me to the second question - how can I setup the DSL distro to automaticly start the vnc server, and Azureus upon startup?

Thankyou for any help, sorry if the questions have been answered previously, I have tried the search with no avail.
