If you're talking about a full Debian-style hd setup: As far as I can see, you would be wasting harddrive space if indeed this system was possible (I don't think it would be very easy to accomplish with the current DSL). You install DSL to your harddrive, but instead of running that system you load a copy of it into RAM and run that instead? Then you have to copy any changes back to your harddrive install when you shut down. This doesn't seem logical when there is already a smaller, damage-resistant way to do this with frugal.
