Hi everyone

Simple question: I cannot import bookmarks on Firefox DSL from Firefox Ubuntu located on another PC.

I've tried file > import, but I'm stuck the "next" button (import Preferences, bookmarks, ... ) nothing happens

In Ubuntu, bookmarks.html is located in /home/personal folder/.mozilla/firefox/xyz.default

BUT in DSL, no idea where it is located??? any solution to help me?

Thx a lot

The firefox wizard apparently does not work in DSL.  However, if you do "Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks" you can then import them directly.

One thing to keep in mind is that .mozilla in Ubuntu is probably owned by a different user, and probably has permissions set so that other users cannot enter. If this is the case, the import will fail.  You can avoid this by copying ubuntu's bookmarks.html into /home/dsl as root and then import the file from there.  After this is done, you can delete the copied file.

It worked great Mikshaw, Thx

You were right, I made a copy of boomarks.html on my USB key, but the only way to copy it to /home/dsl was to open emelfm in a console as root ($ sudo emelfm). It's good to know.

Now I'll try the same philosophy to copy my address book from Thunderbird to Sylpheed, but not sure it works because Sylpheed asks for a ldif format ?? I'll try anyway, Thx again
