hello all.. i am new to DSL (obviously) running it installed to my hard drive on an old compaq laptop. i have a lucent winmodem and from reading the forums, i understand that this particular winmodem should work with DSL. i see that it is detected on startup, and i understand how to configure the dial-up, but how do i know what port the modem is installed on. is there an easy way to find this? or do i just use trial and error?
BTW, i love DSL.. it's blazing fast on a 350MHz machine with 64meg of RAM and does everything i need it to if i can figure out dial-up... still trying to figure out Fluxbox, but i'm getting there.
