Hi,

Does anyone have any experiance of connecting to BTinternet with DSL ?

I get a message when I try to browse basically saying they cant connect me (forgot exact wording, should have wrote it down) and click here to fix link. The click here is a link to some javascript which I'm assuming dillo doesnt support ?
I also tried my ISPs other number (the pay one, tried the free after 6 one first) and got the eaxct same message.
If I watch the bar at the bottom and attempt to goto a site something pops up very briefly that I think says Unsupported protocol.

I've been searching the web for help but I can't make sense of anything I've found, they all seem to be dialing up a different way to how I have (pppconfig, pon, poff)

Thanks

Totty

No experience myself, but a quick Google will tell you BT Internet works fine with Linux using pppconfig.

I think you need to provide more information for anyone to be able to help you. You say you get an error saying "they can't connect". Who is they? If this is a BT webpage then you must have a connection and something is misconfigured, maybe your DNS server address or something?

Thanks for the reply Kev B,
Its a BT web page I get so the dial up and connection is successfull. I had DNS set to dynamic (same as in XP). The conection was setup by following Gilbert Ashleys excellent instructions in the "dialup connections" thread. (currently on page 6).

So you can only view BT webpages?

I can't help with this I don't think, but it will be something to do with the DNS or maybe they use a proxy server?
