Hi,
I have a compaq 1220, very old, it now has 64 megs ram and 2.1gb hdd. I believe this box has a old 16bit pcmcia slot.
I would like to get a ethernet card for this box. It could be just a 16 bit wired card, but the newer the better, but if it going to be supported better being that it is old 10baseT would be just fine.
I want reiability not scarificed by anything else, if I understand right are all carbus backwards compatiable? If not aren't many people's spec on this site stating that they are using wireless cards on old old laptops?
I would like a card that would be out of the box supported, I have tried to search this but it is hard to find info on what will work.
Would also be nice if it had usb unless it known to have problems.
I live in canada and most of the good stuff is in the U.S and shipping it here for this old box is expensive.
Could you possibly name a few models so that I may try to find them up here.
Many thanks. DSL is very cool. Probably one of the better ideas I've seen lately. I will promise to help with some modest financial backing as soon as I get a working system. Thanks to all who help this project.
I am not patronizing I really like DSL
