First apologies for cross-posting but I tried asking in "user feedback" but got no replies...

unluckily for me I have a WG511 "laying around" that I'd like to get working and I understand other wireless cards would be easier, but before I give up-

I have read that I need to copy the firmware, 1.0.4.3.arm, renamed isl3890, but DSL won't let me copy to /usr/lib/hotplug, it says that it's read-only.

Do I need some other filers as well?

As I understand it I need to get the firmware in the right place, then run:

iwconfig ...my settings....
if config eth0 up

I tried copying the file as su, still reports read-only.
I tried copying the files to my home folder in the vain hope it would look there, still no luck.

Some progress- at least I can see PRISM54 is looking for the file - eror is "SCIOCSIFFLAGS - No such file or directory"

Any help much appreciated!
(Card is a PY3 WG511-F v2, Taiwan-made)

Simon
