I have an advertising business which runs 30 sec ad shots on LCD screens at 20 locations. Ads run on dumb screens from Flash cards. Updating ads requires physical travel to sites, very cumbersome and not appropriate for planned expansion.
I want to set up a file server containing the ads, and connect to them via internet, using mini-box clients with CF cards booting DSL, which attach to existing LCD ad screens. The goal is to have updates on server realized real-time on clients.
I have made the first small step, booting DSL on the minibox from the CF cards. Very cool! I would appreciate helpful suggestions for:
a: Networking overview for connecting client to Linux server via internet
b: Suggestions for slideshow type application to run ads from Server
Asking a lot, I know, but thanks in advance!
Tim.
