Quote (teitoku @ Aug. 04 2006,01:43) | I've got a D-Link DWL 650 card that I know works under (puppy)linux, and a rebadged orinoco card sold as "Enterasys/Cabletron RoamAbout 802.11 DS" that I know works great in linux.
The cards are detected correctly, as far as I can tell, and are set up as eth0 and eth1. Yet when I do "sudo iwconfig eth1 channel 6" or "sudo iwconfig eth0 freq 2.437G", it just comes back with Failed; Operation Not Supported.
What's the fix? |
Hi, I just installed the same card, DWL 650, and used the DSL control panel to configure mine, very easy.
Open DSL Control panel, click Wlanconfig button, and run throught the configuration - my card is identified as ath0, perhaps this is where you went wrong.
After that, click the Iwconfig button, and enter your device (remember, ath0), SSID, channel and WEP parameters, and watch the lights on your card. They should begin blinking in unison.
Having got this far, I am stuck with how to save the settings in Iwconfig, (see my post) if you know please let me know!
