I cant have my wireless n/w card more than 20cm from my router. here is my iwconfig result. can anybody see anything here,  signal level etc(dont really know what it all means!) , that would tell me ehy the poor signal. cheers

Could be interfance from wireless telephone, neighbors wireless networks, or perhaps your wireless card going bad, autoneogation of signal speed, etc.
