Hi all,

I have an old box with DSLinux on it. My dad needs a computer to surf the web, check email and occasionally edit the odd word document.

It can connect to the web, but It needs an office suite. Inside it is an ancient network card with no working online drivers, every time I run a the new DSL (or puppy linux) it can't connect to the net.

So, how would I go about copying the working network driver?

(I have 1.4mb disks/usb drives, so all need to know is where the working driver file is located. I'm visiting him tomorrow so it would be good to have it working soon)

I guess that from what you're saying, the old box with DSL on it has a working network driver and you would like to copy this working network driver to a newer version of DSL?

If so, and assuming you know the name of the network driver, you could:

1. Use GTKFind to search for the driver and then copy it.

or

2. Manually look under /lib/modules/2.4.26/ using emelFM until you find your driver and then copy it.
