(i know this topic may have been previously discussed, but i couldn't find anything!)

hi,
i have a DSL machine (DSL 6.2) and i cannot connect to my Linux Smoothwall (www.smoothwall.org) with it! my windows machine works fine with the smoothwall, as does my fedora core machine. however DSL will not get info via DHCP or connect to the local network if i enter the details manually. what am i doing wrong?  DSL will not connect to the network when its live or hdd-installed. (my knoppix cd does the same thing but mandrake live connects fine) does DSL have a firewall?? many thanks.

i have check all hardware, changed the NIC, and HDD on the linux box. i have setup 2 FC2 machines and 1 windows machine on the box, all get their addresses via DHCP and connect to the internet with no problems (they were all connected at the same time via a switch, i have tried conneting DSL to the box without the switch (x-over cable) but still no connection!

just fixed it!

the computer has two netowrk cards (a PCI one and an internal one, DSL only saw one networkcard at first i thought it would have seen the PCI one! but no, it saw the internal one!

I'm so thick! Sorry to have wasted your time!  :)

Thanks for your input!
