Hi,
does anyone know how to connect to the Internet with a ISDN adapter connected to the USB port in a Live-CD DSL system? I already tried to do it in the way DSL described. Under windows it requires CAPI drivers. I hope you know what ISDN means: Integrated Services Digital Network. But there are no drivers for Linux, and the manufacturer doesn't provide source code to open-source developers. The name of the device is "Telekom Eumex 504 PC SE" and a project at Sourceforge.net recognized the problem that there are no Linux drivers for the Eumex series. But they have no source code to proceed developing. You can find the project under http://eumex.sf.net . Or should I buy an analog modem? Which modems are supported by DSL?
Thanks, s-m-n

Your best bet is to either:

1) Buy an EXTERNAL analog modem like a US Robotics model.

or

2) Get an ISDN connection that can be piped through a home router.  Then connect your PC up to the router using a LAN card instead of a weird unsupported USB connection and driver.

Hi,
OK, i'll try to get an external analog modem, because I don't have Knoppix or a router. (Knoppix would take about 24 hours to download)
Can I configure the modem with the DSL Panel?
Thanks, s-m-n

The ppp option can be used to support an external modem if your ISP supports standard PPP dialup login, also known in the MS Windows world as "Standard Dial-up Networking or DUN connections supported"
