so, currently i'm only using dsl on the live cd just to get familiar with linux.  i have most of what i want to do figured out but i'm missing a huge chunk of it: the internet and my networking.  i have two computers networked wirelessly with a D-Link DWL-700AP on my Dell and a D-Link DWL-810+ Wireless Bridge on my Presario.  The Presario is my Linux computer but I also have WinXP on it and can network/share internet when in WinXP.  The Dell is my family's primary computer so I can't change the OS on that or people will be too confused so I want to know if I can share drives between the two OS's.  I have tried using netcardconfig in dsl to get my internet going on the presario, but i can't connect to anything.  My questions are:

Is eth0's IP what will be the IP of the computer?
What is Broadcast Address (i.e. what would windows call it if they do in fact have this)?
What is the NameServer and what does it need to be set to?

I think if I had those questions answered I might be able to get it going.  Note that I have tried DHCP but it always fails.  If I need to, I can provide all the IP, DNS, and Gateway numbers that I have typed into WinXP if that would help get the ball rolling.

Sorry, I'm a complete newbie at this but I appreciate any help I can get.
