Hi everyone. First let me thank everyone involved in this project. The DSL is exactly what I'm looking for with what I'm trying to do. Secondly, I'm sorry if this question has been asked an answered a million times. I've done a pretty full search, but am coming up blank.

I need to add samba so I can actually mount a Windows share (rather than the smbclient/ftp(ish) ability that comes with it). I understand i need only download samba.dsl and put it in my /opt dir. My question is, how do I make an ISO of that, with samba.dsl and a few other changes? Do I need to install DSL to a hard drive then make an image file of the hard drive once I'm done? Is there anyway I can simply edit the iso file and drop what i need in the proper places?

I've found DSL to be very great, I just need that Samba in it and I'll be the happiest guy around ;).

Thanks in advance for your help!

the answer is, YES! and its quite easy, there's a script that does everything for you, including burning the cd. :)  there's even a walkthrough at the wiki:

as far as having the samba server settings saved, someone more knowledgable will have to come along to tell you about that.  It may be just a matter of saving your smb.conf on the iso, putting the samba server .dsl in /optional, loading it up and pointing it at your smb.conf..it may even be easier than that.

Well don't I feel like 'teh n00b'. Thanks for the heads up. I've been kinda crazy trying to get this uber multi-boot CD working, I guess I just missed it.

Thanks man!!!
