I have a HD DSL insall on a toshiba 4000 notebook.

I am going to install it into a picture frame so it will not have a keyboard or mouse.

So I want DSL to shutdown when I press the power button.

I can not seem to work out how to do it. I was hopping ACPI will have done it automatically.

Any pointers?

Try Enabling APT or SYNAPTIC

Then apt-get install acpid

This is the acpi daemon that monitors the power button or laptop lid switch.  Search google for instructions on how to use acpid for more help.
