Latest BIOS of OQO ultra-protable boots DSL 2.1 from Cruzer USB pen.

Booting process goes all the way without any problem, but mouse operates eratically. Jumps around and windows open and close as if I was clicking on mouse buttons. I have tried (I think) all the xsetup mouse options, only PS2 works at all.

Any help or suggestion would be welcome.

Try booting to runlevel 2 or 3, aka:

dsl 2

or

dsl 3

and then install the XFree86.dsl extension and see if it helps with your mouse's driver.

Will try and report back. XFree86 configuration may exceed my level of expertize though, we will see.

Found that the OQO works OK with Xvesa and an attached USB mouse. So it is the track stick that causes problems. Still investigating.

Now need to solve the screen aspect ratio problem, the OQO has an 800 X 400 display...

You might be able to get a better screen resolution with a frame buffer boot:

dsl vga=xxx xsetup

where "xxx" is your framebuffer code and then choose the framebuffer server

As a last resort, maybe install XFree86 and get it to work with your 800x400 modeline and your laptop's native video card driver.
