What would help most would be a little more information, if possible the manufacturer/model of the wireless card. DHCP and ndiswrapper are only good if you know what chipset the card uses,
I'm still having trouble getting my no-name wireless card working, but having found out the chipset was an Acx100 i'm now on my way to getting it working.
In general linux support is at best spotty for wireless networking, it's getting better, but not quickly.
Anyway, welcome to the world of linux, DSL is an excellent place to start, it'll force you to learn, or kill you trying....
