I have 3 Toshiba 330CDT laptops, all identically configured. 32ram, 4gig hd, P266mmx.  One has bios 8.00 w/acpi the other 2 have bios 6.2.  

The bootlocal.sh reflects identical modprobe as prescibed in another post.  The XMMS preferences are identical as are the bios options.

Only 1 laptop has sound (one of the 6.20 bios).  Is there something else I should be looking at for the others?  BTW, volume on laptop and slider on XMMS have been verified.

Please advise if additional information is needed.  Thanks for your assistance.

Maybe you put PCM Wave Volume as 100% and adjust PCM Wave 2 Volume.
