Just got my hand on an old laptop, a dell D300XT and are trying to install DSL.

It boots from a cd, so far so good.
When X are going to start it looks like shit.....almost a green color over the whole screen and i can hardly see whats on it.

I have tried to use all possible settings at the startup.
Also tride to use my monitor connected with the same result..

Any ideas?

Try changing modes by using xsetup (xsetup.sh in terminal)

And/or try either the vga= or fb_ bootcodes.
