YES I have the same thing. If I boot using either live cd or the pen drive, my laptop fan will constantly run. I dont like the idea of the fan being on that long myself. I posted this question on 2 different forums and never got an answer! I hope someone can give a reason for this! bob :D

alright! the latest RC2 release (DSL 2.1 RC2) fixed the laptop fan problem i was having!! yeah! i'm not sure if the very smart developers of this RC2 disabled the fan completely or put in enabled some sort of fan control, hopefully someone can explain what exaclty they did or point this topic to that fix that they did :-) but yeah, i'm ecstatic that they fixed this fan problem i was having :-D

-edit-
so after i was typing this reply, i was going ot type it on the other topic i started when all of a sudden my laptop shutsdown.. i check if my laptop overheated anywhere and it was the CPU.. so i'm guessing the fan was disabled and the processor was at its max potential.

i've been reading some other sites that say somethign about ACPI or something liek that and also there is a way to scale down something.. sorry for the lack of details on this and if i spelled it wrong, but these topics seem like it is a way to fix the fan and cpu problem for DSL usage on a laptop
