No Proxy AuthenticationForum: User Feedback Topic: No Proxy Authentication started by: blahblah Posted by blahblah on Oct. 01 2003,11:00
I use the net thru a proxy server which needs a user name and a password. I noticed that there is no dynamic way of loging in-no login prompt for the user name and password in using dillo thru server. How do I input these?

Dillo doesn't, but Links-hacked does.

Hrm, what about SSL through proxy. Most reasonable login-type sites nowadays (read My yahoo mail account :P ) require https to login, and I can't seem to get it working with Dillo or links-hacked ...and off topic I must say I agree with a topic elsewhere I think I saw, that sudo <cmd> gets old quickly ;) although it is nice being able to SSH to a DSL box without having to first set a root passwd Posted by Ray on Oct. 05 2003,17:09
I was able to log into my yahoo email account using both Dillo and Links-H in DSL. Both browsers have been patched to work with SSL.Regarding your second point, type 'sudo su' -- then you stay root. Posted by codestorm on Oct. 06 2003,00:56
Hmm, our home proxy uses port 80 for HTTP, HTTPS and FTP proxying - I wonder if that confuses Dillo and Links? (All the windoze putas use it for SSL no dramas) Ahhh, excellent about sudo su. I assume the duration of that change is until you restart the puta, not shell window only? |
