Looks like there is a < 50< knoppix based distro > that was recently added to distrowatch... it looks almost exactly the same except without tuxnes and with a bittorrent program.... Just letting everyone who does not check distrowatch know =)

Flonix started out 95% the same too, but it seems to be finding it's own path now. I bet the author of Feather will take it in it's own direction eventually.

Feather Linux has its similarities, but it appears as though DSL is easier. I downloaded Feather Linux over the weekend, and I prefer Damn Small. It's just smoother.

Hi, I'm the developer of Feather Linux. Yes, it is quite similar to Damn Small. However, I didn't remaster Damn Small, I took Knoppix 3.3 and worked down from there. I used quite a few of the applications (although not the actual binaries; I compiled those myself) and ideas from Damn Small - I asked John, and he said he didn't mind. I wouldn't call it a clone myself, but you can if you want:(

Well.. sorry for being so critical, I was not saying it was bad... just pointing out that DSL has more competition =) And competition is a good thing... I mean look what happens when there is only one OS that has most of the market?

No insults intended. I LOVE downloading the light Linux distros....whether it be the single floppy "Tomsrtbt", BasicLinux, or Feather/DSL/Knoppix. You guys do the impossible (in my mind anyway)...and it is appreciated.

Please don't take the comments in the wrong context.

Bottom line: The WORST Linux is STILL better than the "best" Windows...on so many levels.

Nah, I don't mind if DSL is currently better! John's been working on it for a far longer time than I have; it's only natural that his product is better at the moment.
ImNotHere, it has parted, partimage, antiword and other stuff too, not just a BitTorrent program

Next release, Samba will be there!

Right now, I am running it on a new Dell P4 HT, with 800 mhz bus, 1 GB ram, and MozillaFirebird looks and performs exactly like it does running on Windows XP. Amazing, really.
