You can not adjust the refresh rate with the basic X server in DSL.

hmm so if i change X server to Xorg. Would Damnsmall still be fast or would it dramaticly slow down?

The system i need light linux distro is 200mmx pentium,128mb edo simm,Nvidia TNT32mb,4gb hd.

While i was waiting answer. I did install Debian 3.1 with Xorg & Fluxbox. But it seems quite slow.

It should be ok - there is a mydsl XFree86 package that you can use.

I think there is also an nvidia driver .dsl package that you might try. It's probably still in the testing area of the repository.
