Just spent a week of evenings trying to get DSL up on this Solo. You are looking at it but I couldn't boot from any CD image that I made so I found somewhere in these forums a ref to copping the Knoppix to C/Knoppix/Knoppix. When i did this  I can now boot from a Floppy.  Being a novis at this level of programing and not up on DOS I can use some help and advise. I want to have DSL on this machine but I still need it to run W98 for some things. Waht is the best way to configure these two systems and can I doo this without un installing windows? . This system seems to work great and fast but I would like to boot from the HD.

Side note and possably another day I also have a Solo 3100 that has no Floppy and will not boot from the CD that I burnt.

Any advise is welcome i have found a wealth of info on these forums so keep up the good work.

Create your linux partitions and swap, format them and install from the right-click screen.  You could search on these topics for more information.  If you don't have any free space on the drive, you'll have to re-size it with something lile partition magic or add a drive or start over with a fresh drive.

Still working on this problem. It seems that I cannot use the Partition magic, ( missing some "stub") in windows to make a seperate partition. CFDISK will not run from my setup,( the Solo dosen't have swapable drives so I need the floppy to boot DSL and I don't seem able to download and convert a usable CD image .img CD that will boot on this computer

Any more Ideas???????????????????????

Can you download the dsl.iso file to windows and use < daemon tools > to extract?!

Give that a whirl!
