Excellent distrobution works amazingly well for >=50mbs on CD, it is able to detect my usb modem which is really nice How does it do that? (package name, app name, heh at least something) Thx for the great distro

Well DSL is based of KNOPPIX so its safe to say the KNOPPIX hardware autodetection script...so it might be a better idea to ask the guys at KNOPPIX

I would guess that it uses the lsusb command or the contents of one of the directories in /proc.
