I am quite happy DSL is extremely developed with large enhancements confined to the 50 MB size.

I know about customizing icons and Menu entries.

Is it possible to customize the themes itself i.e. can we form our own theme editing any existing theme? :D

If you're speaking of Fluxbox themes, yes.  You can add themes to /home/dsl/.fluxbox/styles and they will be automatically added to your fluxbox menu.  The exceptions are the newer pixmap themes, which require Fluxbox 0.9.x, and any theme made for fluxbox 0.9.15, which uses a different method of setting the background (requires 0.9.15 and fbsetbg).  This second type can be returned to the old behavior by adding a rootcommand to the style file.

You can also customize the look of gtk1 applications by creating/downloading a new gtkrc and including it in /home/dsl/.gtkrc.  I can't say what limitations there may be with that, if any.
